The Backbone of Your Build

Every successful build — whether a new construction or a renovation — depends on the systems beneath the surface. From the flow of electricity and water to the protection overhead and the floors beneath your feet, these four trades are the foundation of livable, code-compliant, and high-performance spaces. Here’s what goes into doing them right.

Need-to-Know Tips for Homeowners

Electrical: Always plan future capacity — adding circuits is easier now than after walls are closed.
Plumbing: Don’t skip venting. Poor drainage is often the result of bad air flow, not clogged pipes.
Roofing: Pay attention to gutters and water runoff angles — most roof leaks start with poor drainage.
Flooring: Let flooring acclimate to your space for at least 48 hours before installation to avoid warping.

Clean Wiring. Safe Installs. Up to Code.

Electrical work impacts everything from safety to comfort. Whether upgrading panels, running new circuits, or installing interior and exterior lighting, our licensed electricians ensure all work is compliant with local codes and future-proofed for added capacity. We handle service upgrades, EV charger setups, recessed lighting, and full rewires with precision and planning. Every switch, outlet, and fixture is installed with a focus on function and long-term reliability.

    Technical Note

Most modern households need a 200-amp service panel to safely run HVAC, kitchen appliances, and entertainment systems. Older 60–100 amp panels often require replacement to meet today’s usage standards.

Behind Every Wall, Flow Matters.

From full bathroom rough-ins to emergency leak repairs, plumbing is a system that has to work quietly, consistently, and leak-free. We install and reroute supply lines, drainage systems, and venting — always to code, and always with inspection prep in mind. Whether it’s upgrading galvanized pipes to PEX or creating multi-zone water supply lines for a renovation, we build plumbing systems that last.

    Insight

Every fixture (sinks, tubs, toilets) needs proper venting. Improper vent placement is a leading cause of gurgling drains and slow flow.

Protection From the Top Down.

Your roof is your structure’s first line of defense. We install, replace, and repair asphalt shingles, flat roofing systems, torch down, and more — paying close attention to pitch, flashing, drainage, and underlayment. Our crews understand not just how to lay roofing, but how to assess framing, decking, and water barriers below it. Proper roofing starts long before the first shingle is nailed.

    Maintenance Tip

Roofs should be inspected every 2–3 years, especially after major storms. Early detection of lifting shingles or flashing failures can prevent costly structural damage.

Built for Wear, Installed to Last.

Floors see it all — impact, moisture, movement. That’s why proper installation is about more than just laying planks or tile. We check for subfloor stability, use appropriate underlayment, and account for expansion gaps, transitions, and leveling before anything is installed. From hardwood and LVP to porcelain tile and concrete overlays, our flooring systems are made to handle real-life use without shifting, squeaking, or separating.

    Pro Tip

Before installing wood flooring, allow planks to acclimate for at least 48–72 hours in the space where they'll be installed. This reduces the risk of post-install cupping or gapping.

How These Systems Work Together

In real-world renovations, these four trades often overlap. Plumbing and electrical need coordination behind walls before drywall. Flooring and subflooring affect plumbing access and cabinet heights. Roofing can impact attic ventilation and HVAC performance. That’s why sequencing — and communication between trades — is essential. Poor coordination leads to costly rework, scheduling issues, and inspection failures. A contractor who understands the full picture can prevent those headaches before they start.

FAQ'S

How do I know if my roof has a leak?

Common signs include ceiling stains, missing shingles, mold in the attic, or water around vents and chimneys. A visual inspection after a heavy storm can often reveal problem areas early.

Should I upgrade my electrical panel during a remodel?

If your current panel is maxed out, older than 25 years, or not compatible with new appliances, yes. Upgrading now prevents future failures, meets code, and often increases home value. We also plan for future additions (EV chargers, solar, etc.) so you don’t outgrow the system in 5 years.

How many circuits do I need in a kitchen remodel?

Kitchens require multiple dedicated circuits: one for the fridge, one for the microwave, two for countertop appliances, and separate ones for dishwasher/disposal. We map all loads and plan accordingly to prevent overloads.

Can electrical and plumbing work be done at the same time?

Yes, but they need to be carefully coordinated. Both trades often work during the “rough-in” phase of a build or remodel, so clear sequencing and communication help avoid conflicts between pipe routing and wire paths.

How long does a new roof last?

Asphalt shingle roofs typically last 20–30 years, depending on quality and maintenance. Flat roofs like TPO or EPDM last 15–25 years. Metal and tile roofs can last even longer with proper care.

What’s involved in preparing a subfloor before flooring installation?

The subfloor must be dry, level, clean, and structurally sound. For tile, we may add a cement backer board or uncoupling membrane. For wood or vinyl, moisture barriers and underlayment's are often installed depending on the product.

What is arc fault protection, and why is it now required?

AFCIs (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters) detect dangerous arc conditions that standard breakers miss — like a nail through a wire or frayed cords. They’re now required in most living areas for safety. We install and test them during any new or upgraded panel work.

Is it okay to install a new roof over an old one?

It’s legal in many places, but we don’t recommend it. It traps moisture, adds weight, and hides damage underneath. A complete tear-off ensures proper flashing, deck inspection, and warranty coverage.

Should I ventilate my attic if I’m replacing the roof?

Absolutely. Good ventilation extends roof life, prevents mold, and keeps your home cooler. We assess ridge vents, soffits, and attic airflow during every roof job — and upgrade it if needed.
